thunder is basically just collapsing and rushing into said vacuum.

its a little after noon, i have a little break between classes, i had breakfast this morning, i'm about to take a nap, and i just changed back into pjs. i really enjoy staring out my window. its raining outside. theres something very soothing about the mixture of the cold, the draft coming in, the flicker of the candles i have lit, the blanket draped around my shoulders, and the barely audible sound of the rain. even in something as dangerous and volatile as lightning, an intricate beauty stems from it . a professor once said that a lightning strike is the most concentrated, charged amount of energy that we experience on earth. its so powerful, in fact, that it splits the air as it goes through, temporarily creating a vacuum. and thunder is the sound of all the particles collapsing and rushing back into said vacuum.

two best pieces of advice ever:

"if you are torn about a decision, choose the one that you would rather not do. odds are, the fact that you like one scenario over the other is clouding your vision. and ultimately, the best decision for you in the end is the other one, the one you would rather not do. Otherwise, if one decision is both good for you and what you want to do, then you would never feel this torn about making that decision in the first place." -Lisa Wolff (roughly paraphrased, of course)

"Whenever you have to make a decision, unless it is an absolutely extreme case, there is a good chance that you are always going to make the right one. Regardless of what the outcome would be, you will convince yourself that you made the right one." -Prof. John Maner (he teaches Social Psych. hes awesome and a looker.)
